IDB was founded in 2020 by Christopher Watt who brings over 25 years of international experience in the commercial & residential sectors. Having worked extensively as both a Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager on high-end construction projects across the UK, Europe, and Asia, Christopher returned to New Zealand in 2014 to settle and raise a family.
Since inception, IDB has successfully delivered a wide variety of high-profile commercial projects throughout Auckland, earning a reputation for quality, reliability and client-focused delivery.

Introducing Christopher Watt
Founder & Managing Director, IDB
Christopher Watt brings over two decades of diverse experience across the Commercial and Residential construction sectors. A qualified Quantity Surveyor and accomplished Project Manager, Christopher has delivered premium commercial fitouts and residential developments in some of the world’s most competitive markets.
Before founding IDB, Christopher was Director of a boutique construction company in London and also spent time in Asia working on property development projects.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with award-winning architects and serviced high-end clients, consistently delivering projects to an exceptional standard.
Since returning to New Zealand in 2014, Christopher has focused on combining his global experience with local knowledge. He brings a deep understanding of construction management, hands-on site delivery, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and integrity. His leadership ensures that every IDB project is approached with clarity, vision, and a commitment to exceeding client expectations.
